Dugan P. Kelley joined Cappello & Noël in 2005 and became a partner in 2008. Mr. Kelley is a member of the litigation team representing plaintiffs in labor relations litigation, catastrophic injury, class actions, lender liability and other complex litigation matters.
Since joining Cappello and Noël, Mr. Kelley has successfully co-tried trials to verdicts in excess of $40 million dollars and millions in settlements prior to trial. Mr. Kelley has also tried administrative law cases in labor and employment matters. He has expertise in representing employers and members of management in litigation and collective bargaining negotiations involving labor disputes and labor unions. Mr. Kelley’s administrative and employment law practice includes conducting risk assessments for management, and investigating, prosecuting, and defending charges in hearings before the federal court and federal administrative agencies.
Prior to joining Cappello & Noël, Mr. Kelley was a litigator with Bonne, Bridges, Mueller, O'Keefe & Nichols in Los Angeles defending healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions involved in malpractice suits. Mr. Kelley's practice also included defending employment claims against professionals and the County of Los Angeles. For several years, Mr. Kelley was an adjunct law professor teaching fundamental legal skills, legal research and writing, and moot court to law students in the Orange County area. Previously, Mr. Kelley provided consulting services in the travel and short-term employment services.
In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Kelley was selected as a "California Super Lawyer Rising Star" - recognized as the best attorneys under age 40.
